I am afraid Joys plant (illustrated) is unlikely to be D. callizonus.

The first photograph is from a plant at Wisley

--sorry this one is from seed I raised (sent me from a German friend)

I don't know what is diagnostic, but the flower shape and form look very similar to those you show, though the central markings are clearly much more pronounced.

Hi John,

Its the leaf shape and colour, the proportion of the cauline sheath to the stem just below it, the stature and manner of the plant and the calyx shape, colour and dimensions
