I garden about 6 miles from the Pacific ocean in SW Oregon and I have C rohlfsianum in an unprotedted south facing unwatered bed. It has endured hard frosts into the low 20's F with barely any foliar damage, and it flowers much better than it ever did in a container. It is just beginning to flower now in mid September, and it regularly sets seed.
