Kent Alpine Gardener's Diary
This entry: 03 December 2016 by Tim Ingram
East Kent Group of the AGS
Our talk in a week's time - on Friday 9th December - to our Garden Group, who meet at Lower Hardres, south of Canterbury, is from Sarah Morgan on using 'Alpines in Landscape Design'. http://sarahmorgangardens.co.uk/portfolio/4589913527
Sarah is much more than just a 'Garden Designer' - she also has lectured extensively in horticulture and with a colleague from Hadlow College planted an Arboretum and 'Millenium' Rose Garden (following the horticultural development of the rose over the centuries) at Mount Ephraim Garden near to Faversham in Kent. In France she works with the local people of a small village on the flanks of the Pyrenees to inspire them about their natural environment and study the mountain flowers more closely. For more details see: http://www.alpinegardensociety.net/groups/East-Kent/

A picture taken from 'Kent Live' with Sarah and Fergus Garrett at Great Dixter and a student from Hadlow College, who won a scholarship to work at the garden. (See http://www.kentlive.news/student-jilly-designs-great-dixter-garden/story-13388525-detail/story.html for a higher quality picture).
