Woodland/humus bed
Humus bed for ericaceous/woodland plants Bed is approximately 12' x 3' comprising a mix of fine bark, acid loam and grit with sulphur chips to maintain acidity. Structure is built around peat blocks which are unfortunately regularly damaged by blackbirds. Plants in flower include Rhododendrons 'Shamrock' and 'Ginny Gee'; Jeffersonia dubia alba; Erythronium hendersonii; Phyllodoce empetriformis, Leptecophylla juniperina, Dicentra cucullaria. Trunk seen to right is an Ilex.
