Silene acaulis 'Frances' growing in tufa in a wooden trough
This lovely form of our native Moss Campion has been happily growing in this piece of tufa in a small wooden trough for over five years now. It is never a prolific flowerer , but is charming all the same.

This trough contains Saxifragas paniculata minutifolia, longifolia (or hybrid), x fritschiana 'Krain', frederici-augusti subsp. grisebachii 'Wisley' Dianthus arpadianus and 'Whatfield Magenta'. Physoplexis comosa.

Dwarf Hostas; clockwise from the flowering 'Blue Mouse Ears', 'Little Wonder', 'Blue Chip' and 'Little Caeser'. Some of these could be derived from alpines as Hostas have been recorded from over 2,000m in the wild.
