Paeonia x smouthii
This sterile hybrid grows easily even from small tubers. In this site, later in the summer, as the leaves begin to wither it is succeeded by Lilium henryi

Hepatica acutiloba
This particular plant turned up in a batch of seedlings that I grew from Ashwood Nurseries fresh seed. I love the very pale blue shade and it is a really good doer, and of course these plants are very long-lived, once established.
